12/16/2019 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15810 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE REDWOOD CITY <br />DESIGNATING 1633 HOPKINS AVENUE A HISTORIC LANDMARK <br />AND APPROVING A HISTORIC PRESERVATION AGREEMENT (MILLS <br />ACT CONTRACT) <br />WHEREAS, on October 29, 2018, Clare Erin Friday (Property Owner/Applicant) <br />applied for Redwood City historic landmark designation and a Mills Act Contract <br />(Project) at 1633 Hopkins Avenue (APN: 052-235-230) in Redwood City, California; and <br />WHEREAS, on August 8, 2019, the Historic Resources Advisory Committee <br />(HRAC) held a duly noticed public hearing in accordance with all applicable <br />requirements of the State Planning and Zoning Law and the Redwood City Municipal <br />Code to consider the Project; and <br />WHEREAS, the HRAC has determined that the property meets Criterion C for <br />designation as a historic landmark according to the historic designation criteria <br />established by the Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance (Chapter 40 of the <br />Redwood City Code) and recommended by a vote of 5-0 for local landmark designation <br />and approval of the Mills Act Contract; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 15, 2019, the Planning Commission held a duly noticed <br />public hearing in accordable with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and <br />Zoning Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Zoning Ordinance to consider <br />the Project; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 15, 2019, the Planning Commission voted 6-0 <br />(Commissioner Smith absent) to adopt Resolution 19-14 recommending that the City <br />Council designate the residence a historic landmark and to approve the Mills Act <br />Contract; and <br />WHEREAS, on December 16, 2019, the City Council held a duly noticed public <br />hearing in accordable with all applicable requirements of the State Planning and Zoning <br />Law, the Redwood City Municipal Code, and the Zoning Ordinance to consider the <br />Project; and <br />WHERAS, the residence and property located at 1633 Hopkins Avenue, <br />Redwood City, California does meet the historic designation criteria established by the <br />Redwood City Historic Preservation Ordinance as follows: <br />Criterion C: It embodies distinctive characteristics of a style, type, period or <br />method of construction, or is a valuable example of the use of <br />ATTY/RESO.0119/CC RESO MILLS ACT -1633 HOPKINS AVE <br />REV: 12-10-19 PR <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />RESO.
