07/13/2020 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 15866 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY ADOPTING CERTAIN FEES AND CHARGES FOR FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT SERVICES <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redwood City ("City") is empowered to <br />impose reasonable fees, rates, and charges to offset the costs for municipal services; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has, through prior actions, adopted various fees and <br />charges requested by individual City Departments; and <br />WHEREAS, the Redwood City Fire Department provides certain services to the <br />community and wishes to recover the costs associated with providing these certain <br />services through user fees; and <br />WHEREAS, Matrix Consulting Group conducted a Cost of Services (User Fee) <br />Study with respect to certain user fees in order to determine the cost to the City of <br />providing such services and provided a final report to the City dated February 16, 2016 <br />(the "Matrix Study"); and <br />WHEREAS, the City has conducted an extensive analysis of its services to ensure <br />that the fees charged reflect the actual costs to the City and the City's taxpayers in <br />providing those services; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City Master Fee Schedule does not currently <br />have fees associated with tent applications and inspections or inspections of small office <br />spaces within commercial business parks; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City Master Fee Schedule does not explicitly <br />state the fees associated with Construction Inspections or approval of Alternative <br />Materials Methods and Methods Requests; and <br />ATTY/RESO.0048/CC RESO ADOPTING CERTAIN FEES AND CHARGES FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT SERVICES RESO.
