<br />04/28/2008 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14856 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING ANNUAL ACTION PLAN OF THE <br />CONSOLIDATED PLAN (2005-2010) AND APPLICATION FOR <br />FEDERAL ASSISTANCE (COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT AND HOME INVESTMENT PARTNERSHIP FUNDS); <br />CERTIFYING THAT THE CITY HAS FOLLOWED ITS ADOPTED <br />CITIZEN PARTICIPATION PLAN; AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION <br />AND FILING OF ALL DOCUMENTS PERTAINING THERETO (FISCAL <br />YEAR 2008-2009) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program authorized <br /> <br />pursuant to Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (P.L. 93- <br /> <br />383), as amended ("the Act"), requires that jurisdictions receiving federal funds develop <br /> <br />a Consolidated Plan and provide for the issuance of grants in order to attain the <br /> <br />objective of the development of viable urban communities, by providing decent housing <br /> <br />and a suitable living environment and expanding economic opportunities, principally for <br /> <br />persons of low or moderate income; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to, and reviewed by this Council, an <br /> <br />Annual Action Plan to the Consolidated Plan (the "Action Plan") and an application to <br /> <br />the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development for a Community <br /> <br />Development Block Grant (the "Application") in the amount of approximately Seven <br /> <br />Hundred Seventeen Thousand, Four Hundred and Twelve Dollars ($717,412.00) and <br /> <br />HOME Investment Partnership funds in the amount of Four Hundred and Three <br /> <br />Thousand, Three Hundred Ninety Five Dollars ($403,395) for the period of July 1, 2008 <br /> <br />through June 30, 2009; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been prepared by the Planning Manager a Notice of <br /> <br />Atty/Reso/Reso.1806 <br />042108 <br /> <br />14856 <br />fomerly muff# 304 <br />
