DES:d~u 06/07/95 (135/39) 0 R I G I N A L 6/12/95 RESOLUTION NO. 12494 RESOLUTION REQUESTING BOARD OF TRUSTEES, REDWOOD CITY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT, TO CONSOLIDATE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY WITH THE SCHOOL DISTRICT ELECTION TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 7, 1995 WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 4 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City and Ordinance No. 2078 adopted April 11, 1994, General Municipal Elections of the City of Redwood City shall be held in said City on the same day as school district elections, to wit: the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each odd-numbered year, commencing with said election in November, 1995; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Elections Code Section 10400, elections called to be held on the same day and wholly or partly within the same territory, may be consolidated upon the order of the governing body or bodies calling the elections; and WHEREAS, this Council desires to consolidate the General Municipal Election aforesaid with the school district election to be held on the same date by the Redwood City Elementary School District; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Section 10402 of the Elections Code, the governing body of the jurisdiction that receives a request for consolidation may order said consolidation and, therefore, this Council desires that said Board of Trustees order consolidation of said District's election with the General Municipal Election of the City of Redwood City;
