RESOLUTION NO. 15969 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY APPROVING A SIDE LETTER OF AGREEMENT WITH SERVICE <br />EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 521 REGARDING <br />ASSISTANT ENGINEER I, ASSISTANT ENGINEER II AND ASSOCIATE <br />ENGINEER FLEXIBLE PROMOTIONS <br />WHEREAS, the City and Service Employees International Union Local 521 (SEIU) <br />entered into a Memorandum of Understanding effective February 1, 2019 - January 31, <br />2022; and <br />WHEREAS, the parties met and conferred, and reached a Side Letter of <br />Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", to allow the Associate Engineer classification <br />to be filled through flexibly staffed promotion from Assistant Engineer I or Assistant <br />Engineer II classifications, and to clarify the classifications of Assistant Engineer I and <br />Assistant Engineer II as flexibly staffed. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The Recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby <br />incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br />2. The Side Letter of Agreement between the City of Redwood City and SEIU <br />regarding flexible promotions for Associate Engineer, Assistant Engineer I, and Assistant <br />Engineer II, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", is approved. <br />3.
