ATTY/RESO.0110/PC RESO STANFORD BLOCK C <br />REV: 11-30-23 VR <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 23-22 <br /> <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY APPROVING A PLANNED COMMUNITY PERMIT, <br />AND TENTATIVE PARCEL MAP FOR PHASE 2 OF THE STANFORD IN <br />REDWOOD CITY PROJECT LOCATED AT 505 BROADWAY (BLOCK C) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Leland Stanford Junior University (“Applicant”), submitted an <br />application for a Planned Community Permit (PC2020-001) and Tentative Parcel Map <br />(TM2020-004) for Block C of Phase 2 of the Stanford in Redwood City campus, including <br />two office buildings, amenity space and a parking structure located at 505 Broadway (the <br />“Project”), which is located within the Stanford in Redwood City Precise Plan (“Precise <br />Plan”) area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 3, 2020, the Architectural Advisory Committee (AAC) <br />conducted a public hearing to consider the proposed Project. The AAC considered the <br />development standards and urban design guidelines of the Precise Plan, and <br />recommended that the Planning Commission approve the project as proposed by the <br />Applicant in that the site planning, building height, massing and articulation, architectural <br />detailing and sustainability features are consistent with the Precise Plan goals and <br />development standards and the intent of its urban design guidelines; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission is empowered by Article 52 (Planned Community <br />District or P District) of the City of Redwood City Zoning Ordinance and the Precise Plan <br />to act upon the Planned Community Permit; the Commission is also empowered by the <br />Subdivision Map Act and the Redwood City Code to consider the Tentative Map <br />application as the Planning Commission is the highest applicable review authority <br />required to review the approval concurrently with the Planned Community Permit <br />pursuant to Section 41.4 of the Zoning Ordinance; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chapter II, Section IV.G of the Precise Plan provides that parking shall <br />be provided according to the standards in the Precise Plan “unless otherwise reviewed <br />and approved by City”; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Applicant provided a Stanford Redwood City Parking Analysis, <br />prepared by Fehr & Peers to support a request for a 15 percent parking reduction for <br />Phase 2, Block C; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on November 28, 2023, the Subdivision Committee conducted a <br />public hearing to consider the proposed Tentative Parcel Map. The Subdivision <br />Committee considered the project and recommended that the Planning Commission <br />approve the Tentative Map; and <br />
