RQ26-01332 AGREEMENT FOR SCHOOL LIAISON OFFICER PROGRAM BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE SEQUOIA UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT This Agreement is made and entered into this 10th day of September , 2025, by and between the City of Redwood City ("City") and Sequoia Union High School District ("SUHSD") (collectively, the "Parties"). f:7*14kIFA C.9 A. On and off since 2000, the Redwood City Police Department has provided a School Liaison Officer ("SLO") at Sequoia High School to enhance campus safety, foster positive interactions with students and staff, and strengthen community relations. B. Sequoia High School is a public high school administered by the SUHSD. C. Sequoia High School recognizes the importance of a dedicated SLO for campus safety, community outreach, student mentorship, and support during school - sponsored events. D. The Parties agree to share in the total annual cost of providing a dedicated SLO for the nine months of the 2025-2025 school year, as outlined below. NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of mutual promises herein, the Parties agree as follows: 1. Term and Termination. This Agreement shall commence on August 1, 2025, and terminate on June 30, 2026, unless terminated earlier in accordance with Section 19. 2. Obligations of the City. The City hereby agrees to: a. Provide one SLO for Sequoia High School on a 4 -day or 5 -day weekly schedule, contingent upon negotiations with the Police Officer's Association. b. Specific scheduling at the respective locations, including hours and days, shall be collaboratively determined by representatives of the Parties. C. The availability of the SLO may be periodically impacted by collateral duties or exigent circumstances, though the City will make reasonable efforts to minimize absences and will provide a substitute SLO if the assigned SLD is absent for more than two consecutive school days.
