ATTY/RESO.0043/CC RESO AMENDING THE CITY’S CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY AND WAGE PLAN (CACA, SACA, ACA) <br />REV: 06-16-26 MI <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 16421 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY AMENDING THE CITY’S CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY AND <br />WAGE PLAN TO ESTABLISH THE NEW FLEXIBLY-STAFFED <br />CLASSIFICATION FOR CHIEF ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY AND <br />UPDATE THE JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ASSISTANT CITY <br />ATTORNEY/SENIOR ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY INCLUDING <br />RENAMING TO ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY/SENIOR ASSISTANT <br />CITY ATTORNEY/CHIEF ASSISTANT CITY ATTORNEY <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has requested that the job description of Assistant <br />City Attorney/Senior Assistant City Attorney be amended, including creating a third level <br />Chief Assistant City Attorney, to meet the current and future operational needs for the <br />City; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager has requested that the salary range for Chief <br />Assistant City Attorney be created and set approximately 14% above Senior Assistant <br />City Attorney; and <br />WHEREAS, staff will come back to City Council with recommended amendments <br />to the Summary of Compensation and Terms of Employment for the Executive <br />Management Employee Group in the near future to update the list of classifications within <br />the Executive Management Employee Group; and <br />WHEREAS, the classification specifications as described in Exhibit “A” were <br />prepared by Human Resources staff in consultation with department management, to <br />ensure the foreseeable needs of the organization were met. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: <br />1.The recitals set forth above are true and correct and are hereby <br />incorporated by this reference as if fully set forth in their entirety. <br />2.The City’s Classification and Salary and Wage Plan is amended to create a <br />new flexibly staffed classification of Chief Assistant City Attorney and to update the job <br />description for Assistant City Attorney/Senior Assistant City Attorney including title <br />change to Assistant City Attorney/Senior Assistant City Attorney/Chief Assistant City <br />Attorney, as included in Exhibit “A”, and as included in the full salary plan attached as <br />Exhibit “B”; and <br />3.The Resolution shall be effective upon the date of its adoption. <br />* * *
