ATTY/RESO.0054/CC RESO CENTENNIAL NEIGHBORHOOD AWS INSTALLATION REV: 08-14-26 VR Page 1 of 2 RESOLUTION NO. 16435 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AUTHORIZING MODIFICATIONS TO STOP SIGNS AT 14 INTERSECTIONS ALONG ARGUELLO ST, LENOLT ST, WARREN ST, AND ALLERTON ST AS PART OF THE 2026 ANNUAL MICROSURFACING PROJECT – CENTENNIAL NEIGHBORHOOD WHEREAS, RWCMoves, the citywide transportation plan, was adopted in 2018 with the goal to create a walking and bicycling-friendly community that provides a safe, balance, and convenient transportation system; and WHEREAS, the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Bikeway Selection Guide (“Guide”) published in 2019 to inform decisions relating to selection of bikeway types; and WHEREAS, as part of Centennial Neighborhood Microsurfacing Project, City intends to implement the planned bikeways in RWCMoves and install bike boulevard and pedestrian improvements along neighborhood streets; and WHEREAS, the City has conducted corridor improvement studies within the Centennial Neighborhood to ensure the planned bicycle and pedestrian improvements are consistent with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) recommendations for the installation of All Way STOP controls; and WHEREAS, to increase pedestrian safety and for bicyclists riding on bicycle boulevards, MUTCD recommends creating predictability for bicycle and pedestrian right- of-way along bicycle boulevards. Traffic control devices such as stop signs create predictability for the road user. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: 1.Pursuant to the provisions of Section 20.34 of the Redwood City Code, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to install All Way STOP controls at the following intersections in the Centennial Neighborhood to be implemented in conjunction with the Centennial Neighborhood Microsurfacing Project: Arguello Street & E Street Arguello Street & C Street Lenolt Street & E Street Lenolt Street & D Street Lenolt Street & C Street Lenolt Street & B Street Lenolt Street & A Street Warren Street & Standish Street Warren Street & Samson Street Warren Street & Alden Street Allerton Street & Howland Street Allerton Street & Standish Street Allerton Street & Samson Street Allerton Street & Alden Street
