<br />I <br /> <br />, :- <br /> <br />AGREEMENT BEWTEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND THE <br />WOODSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT <br />REGARDING AN EXCHANGE OF SERVICES <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT is entered into this _21_ day of _June_, 2010, by and <br />between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, hereinafter "City", acting through its Fire <br />Chief, and the WOODSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, hereinafter "District", <br />acting through its Fire Chief. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City and District share common borders and with respect to fire <br />services wish to best utilize and provide for the benefit of their respective cOlnmunities; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, both City and District are signatories to the County of San Mateo <br />Automatic Aid and Fire Response Agreement, including the "Fire Apparatus Deployment <br />Plan"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Automatic Aid and Fire Response Agreement contemplates that <br />the fire chiefs of impacted jurisdictions will discuss the impacts and solutions where <br />equipment may be reduced; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the fire chiefs wish to agree to an exchange of services on the terms <br />set forth below; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. TERM. This agreement shall be in effect for a two year period, provided that <br />it shall be automatically extended for additional two year periods, unless sooner <br />terminated as set forth herein. <br /> <br />2. TERMINATION. This agreelnent Inay be terminated by either party for any <br />reason upon six months written notice to the fire chief. The parties agree that in the event <br />of notice of termination the fire chiefs shall immediately meet to discuss how to continue <br />or n10dify this agreement. <br /> <br />3. REDWOOD CITY TRUCK. City has a truck that is a specialty piece of <br />equipment used for structural fires. District does not have such a truck. City agrees to <br />make available its truck for fires within District's jurisdiction at no charge in accordance <br />with existing policies of City's fire chief for deployment based upon availability, alarms, <br />and priorities. <br /> <br />4. FIRE STATION 12. City cunently operates Engine 12 at Fire Station 12 <br />which is located near District. Budget shortfalls may require City to discontinue the <br />operation Engine 12 on a periodic or continuing basis. District agrees that for such <br />
