RJ1iJk:12/1/60-7 RESOLQT'!'QN N O. 3261 RESOLUTION CONCERNING CONTRIBUTION BY CITY OF REDWOOD CITY TO STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT FIVE POINTS INTERSECTION BY CONSTRUCTION OF FULL INTERCHANGE STRUCTURE WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works, Division of High- ways, State of California, has proposed two alternate plans for the improvement of the intersection of El Camino Real, Woodside Road, Main street, Spruce Street and Redwood Avenue, commonly known as -Five Points Intersection" in the City of Redwood City; and, WHEREAS, the first of said plans is designated the "Interim Plan" and provides for the signalization of said intersection at grade, and the second proposed plan designated the "Ultimate Plan" provides for a full interchange structure across EI Camino Real; and, WHEREAS, the State of California has indicated to the City of Redwood City that the "Ultimate Plan" for a full interchange cannot presently be accomplished with available state funds; and, WHEREAS, the public interest and safety requires that said intersection be improved with a fully elevated interchange struc- ture over El Camino Real, rather than a signalized intersection at grade; and, WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires and intends to cooperate with the state of California in the construction of the abovementioned "Ultimate Plan- and is willing to contribute to the cost thereof to the extent of one million dollars; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: That the state of California, Department of Public Works, Division of Highways, be and they are hereby requested and urged
