<br />~ <br /> <br />/., <br /> <br />~.,--;_. <br />,. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RJ1iJk:12/1/60-7 <br /> <br />RESOLQT'!'QN <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />3261 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONCERNING CONTRIBUTION BY CITY OF REDWOOD <br />CITY TO STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR IMPROVEMENTS AT FIVE <br />POINTS INTERSECTION BY CONSTRUCTION OF FULL INTERCHANGE <br />STRUCTURE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works, Division of High- <br /> <br />ways, State of California, has proposed two alternate plans for <br /> <br />the improvement of the intersection of El Camino Real, Woodside <br /> <br />Road, Main street, Spruce Street and Redwood Avenue, commonly <br /> <br />known as -Five Points Intersection" in the City of Redwood City; <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the first of said plans is designated the "Interim <br /> <br />Plan" and provides for the signalization of said intersection at <br /> <br />grade, and the second proposed plan designated the "Ultimate Plan" <br /> <br />provides for a full interchange structure across EI Camino Real; <br /> <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the State of California has indicated to the City <br /> <br />of Redwood City that the "Ultimate Plan" for a full interchange <br /> <br />cannot presently be accomplished with available state funds; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the public interest and safety requires that said <br /> <br />intersection be improved with a fully elevated interchange struc- <br /> <br />ture over El Camino Real, rather than a signalized intersection <br /> <br />at grade; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City desires and intends to <br /> <br />cooperate with the state of California in the construction of <br /> <br />the abovementioned "Ultimate Plan- and is willing to contribute <br /> <br />to the cost thereof to the extent of one million dollars; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />That the state of California, Department of Public Works, <br /> <br />Division of Highways, be and they are hereby requested and urged <br />
