• aJC:e:2/15/60-9 <br /> 110 <br /> RES OLUTION NO. 2988 <br /> RESOLUTION AND ORDER OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY SUBMITTING TO THE ELECTORS OF SAID <br /> CITY AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD <br /> APRIL 12, 1960, AN ADVISORY MEASURE CONCERNING <br /> IMPOSITION OF LOCAL CITY SALES AND USE TAX <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. It is the intention and desire of the Council <br /> of the City of Redwood City to obtain and receive an advisory <br /> vote from the electors of the City of Redwood City on . the question <br /> of whether or not the Council of the .City of Redwood City should <br /> enact legislation imposing a tax upon the retail sale or use of <br /> tangible personal property in the City of Redwood City. <br /> SECTION 2. At the General Municipal Election to be held <br /> in the City of Redwood City on Tuesday, April 12, 1960, there <br /> shall be submitted to the qualified electors of said City the <br /> following advisory measure, to wit: <br /> "MEASURE (J) (Local sales and use tax) <br /> Shall the City of .Redwood City impose a local <br /> tax upon the sale or use of tangible personal <br /> property in the City of Redwood City? Yes / / <br /> No / “ <br /> SECTION 3. The Council does hereby submit. to the qualified <br /> electors of said City of Redwood City at said General Municipal <br /> Election the said measure set forth in Section 2 of this resolution, <br /> and designates and refers to said measure in the form of ballot <br /> hereinafter prescribed for use at said election. <br /> (a) All persons qualified to vote at municipal <br /> elections in said City of Redwood City upon the date of the <br /> election herein provided for shall be qualified to vote upon <br /> said measure submitted at said general municipal election. <br />
