o <br /> • • DES.ek 4/1/71 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> AP 1 71 <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 61' 7 7 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING PURCHASE OF <br /> CERTAIN HEREIN DESCRIBED REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY; AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION <br /> OF NOTICE OF INTENTION OF SAID ACQUISITION; AND, <br /> TRANSFERRING THE SUM OF $15,000 FROM APPROPRIATION <br /> FOR CIVIC CENTER PROJECT TO APPROPRIATION FOR COMMUNITY <br /> CENTER BUILDING TO PROVIDE FOR ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION <br /> AND RELATED COSTS FOR NEIGHBORHOOD FACILITIES PROJECT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has secured an option to <br /> purchase certain real property in the vicinity of Middlefield <br /> Road and the Dumbarton Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad <br /> right of way; and <br /> WHEREAS, it has been recommended to this Council that the <br /> acquisition of said property is in the best public interest and <br /> that it is necessary and desirable for public recreational and <br /> other municipal purposes, i.e., the construction of a Neighbor- <br /> hood Facilities Project of the type contemplated in Section 703 <br /> of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1965; and <br /> WHEREAS, the purchase price of said real property exceeds <br /> the sum of $2,000; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the intention and desire of this Council <br /> to approve the purchase of said property at the total purchase <br /> price of $203,000; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> 1. That the acquisition of the hereinafter described real <br /> property is necessary and desirable for municipal purposes. <br /> 2. That the City Manager is authorized to do all acts <br /> necessary to acquire the hereinafter described real property <br /> for a total purchase price'of $203,000 on behalf of the City <br /> of Redwood City in accordance with the terms and conditions of <br /> • <br /> • <br />
