A <br /> • ORIGINAL <br /> R E S O L U T I O N NO. 6895 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADOPTING A SAFETY POLICY <br /> STATEMENT FOR THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY. <br /> • <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City has long recognized the <br /> importance of providing and implementing a safety program for <br /> its employees; and <br /> WHEREAS, a strong safety program requires policies that make <br /> available channels of` communication through which the City, its <br /> managerial personnel and its employees may promote and develop <br /> more effective safety procedures; and <br /> WHEREAS, a comprehensive safety policy statement which <br /> establishes safety goals and priorities, provides safety guide- <br /> . <br /> lines, evaluates safety programs and assigns and identifies • <br /> responsibility for all phases of safety programs is an indis- <br /> pensable element in such a safety program; and <br /> WHEREAS, a comprehensive safety policy statement has been <br /> formulated and presented to this Council, in the form of Exhibit A, <br /> for approval and adoption; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> AS FOLLOWS: <br /> That the safety policy statement in the form of Exhibit A <br /> is hereby approved and adopted and the City Manager is hereby <br /> authorized and directed to implement policies and provisions of <br /> the above mentioned statement. • <br /> * * * <br /> t• <br />
