ORtG1NAL <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> FOR TRAINING OFFICER AND EMS OFFICER SERVICES <br /> THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into 11,c utk,, 2011, by and <br /> between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a charter city and munsioal corporation of the <br /> State of California ( "City "), and the WOODSIDE FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, a Joint <br /> Powers Authority, ( "Fire JPA "), organized pursuant to Section 13801, et seq., of the <br /> Health and Safety Code (collectively, the "Parties "). <br /> RECITALS <br /> A. The Parties provide fire and life safety prevention services, training in <br /> accordance with local, state and federal requirements, and standardized operating <br /> procedures within their respective organizations; and <br /> B. Fire JPA wishes to contract for the provision of Training Battalion <br /> Chief/Training Officer ( "Training Officer ") services by City, and City is willing and able to <br /> provide such services; and <br /> C. City wishes to contract for the provision of Emergency Medical Services <br /> Battalion Chief /EMS Officer ( "EMS Officer ") services to coordinate EMS services within <br /> its organization; and <br /> D. The Parties are entering into this Agreement as authorized pursuant to <br /> California Government Code section 54980, et seq. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of these recitals and the mutual covenants <br /> contained therein, the Parties agree as follows: <br /> 1. Scope of Work. <br /> A. The City's Training Officer will perform the following services for Fire JPA: <br /> • Ensure that Fire JPA's training program meets training <br /> requirements and Standard Operating Procedures including, but <br /> not limited to, hose pulls, and ladder operations <br /> • Determine monthly training schedule which will be completed and <br /> distributed quarterly and two weeks prior to commencement of <br /> each quarter <br /> • Track recent training efforts in an annual report to Fire JPA's Fire <br /> Chief <br /> • Attend manipulative drills and evaluations on probationary <br /> employees <br /> • Respond to all working fires — 2nd alarm or better (within the <br /> respective response districts) and assume the position of scene <br /> Safety Officer or other positions as needed when available <br /> ATTY /AGR/2011. 042 WOODSIDE TRAINING and EMS Officer <br /> 051311 1 <br />
