12/17/01 <br />O R I G I N A L <br />RESOLUTION NO. 14406 <br />RESOLUTION AMENDING AND RESTATING THE <br />CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DEFERRED COMPENSATION <br />PLAN TRUST DOCUMENT <br />WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City (the "City ") has employees rendering <br />valuable services; and <br />WHEREAS the City has established a deferred compensation plan for such <br />employees that serves the interest of the City by enabling it to provide reasonable <br />retirement security for its employees, by providing increased flexibility in its personnel <br />management system, and by assisting in the attraction and retention of competent <br />personnel; and <br />WHEREAS the City has determined that the continuance of the deferred <br />compensation plan will serve the above objectives; and <br />WHEREAS, amendments to the Internal Revenue Code have been enacted that <br />require changes to the structure of and allow enhancements of the benefits of the <br />deferred compensation plan. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. This Council hereby amends and restates that certain plan and trust <br />entitled, "City of Redwood City Deferred Compensation Plan and Trust Document," <br />dated as of January 1, 2002 (the "Plan "), a copy of which is on file in the office of the <br />City Clerk. <br />F:Atty2001 Shared /Redwood /Council /Reso /Reso -1268 ] <br />121201 DBB:cls <br />
