DES:dft 11'~0/94 (033/38) <br /> 0 R I G I N A L 12/5/94 <br /> <br /> R E S O L U T I O N N O. 12370 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF GRANT <br /> PROPOSAL AND APPLICATION FOR ENVIRONMENTAL ENHANCEMENT <br /> AND MITIGATION DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM FUNDS FOR CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY URBAN FORESTRY REPLANTING PROJECT <br /> (1995-96) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Streets & Highways Code Section 164.56, <br />the Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Demonstration <br />Program Fund was established for the purpose of undertaking <br />environmental enhancement and mitigation projects directly or <br />indirectly related to the environmental impact from modifying <br />existing transportation facilities or from the design, <br />construction, or expansion of new transportation facilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City requires mitigation for <br />the effects of increased demands of transportation and commuter <br />traffic in the downtown area of the City resulting from the <br />construction and improvement of "CalTrain" and "SAMTrans" <br />intermodel transportation facilities; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the aforesaid improvements conform to the criteria <br />for eligibility for funding under the above-mentioned <br />Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program, administered by <br />the Resources Agency of the State of California; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this City's proposed urban forestry planning <br />project (the "Project") includes the planting of 400 trees in <br />Stulsaft Park and 670 trees in the downtown and neighborhood <br />areas of the City, enhancing and mitigating the environmental <br />impacts of construction of the aforementioned intermodel <br />transportation facilities; and <br /> <br /> <br />
