DES:djk 07/05/94 (108/37) <br /> 0 R I G I N A L 8/1/94 <br /> <br /> R E S O L U T I O N N O. 12260 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF WATER <br /> AGENCY RESPONSE NETWORK MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT; AND <br /> RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 12148 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the California Office of Emergency Services, the <br />Department of Water Resources, local and regional water agencies <br />have expressed a mutual desire to establish a plan to facilitate <br />and encourage water agency mutual aid during conditions of <br />emergency; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Water Agency Response Network ("II-WARN") has <br />been established to coordinate development of mutual aid <br />agreements between water agencies in Del Norte, Humboldt, Lake, <br />Marin, Mendocino, Napa, Solano, Sonoma, Alameda, Contra Costa, <br />San Francisco, San Mateo, Monterey, San Benito, Santa Clara, and <br />Santa Cruz Counties; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Redwood City, as a water providing <br />agency, would benefit from such an agreement, which implements <br />mutual aid benefits and responsibilities and set forth procedures <br />for providing emergency personnel, equipment and facilities among <br />water agencies; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, II-WARN has prepared an "Omnibus Mutual Aid <br />Agreement" dated as of July 1, 1994, which sets forth covenants <br />and agreements for water agencies to provide mutual assistance to <br />one another in times of emergency; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, no water agency should be in a position of <br />unreasonably using its own resources, facilities, or services in <br />providing such mutual aid; and <br /> <br /> <br />
