ORDINANCE NO. 114. <br />GRANTING TO THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY, A RAILROAD CORPORATION, <br />AND TO ITS SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS, THE RIGHT, PhIVILEGE AND FRANCHISE, FOR <br />THE TERM OF FIFTY YEARS, TO CONSTRUCT, MAINTAIN, AND OPERATE RAILROAD TRACKS <br />UPON THAT CERTAIN STRIP OF LAND IN THE TOWN OF REDWOOD CITY, COUNTY OF SAN <br />MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, ADJOINING THE NORTHERLY LINE OF THE PERMANENT WAY <br />OF SAID COMPANY SAID STRIP HAVING A UNIFORM WIDTH OF FIFTEEN FEET AND EXTEND- <br />ING FROM THE CENTER LINE OF FINE STREET TO THE EASTERLY LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF <br />REDWOOD CITY: AND UPON THAT CERTAIN STRIP OF LAND IN SAIL) TOWN ADJOINING THE <br />SOUTHERLY LTNE OF THE PERMANENT WAY OF SAID COMPANY, SAID STRIP HAVING A UN- <br />IFORM WIDTH OF FIFTEEN FEET AND EXTENDING FROM THE CENTER LINE OF PINE STREET <br />TO THE CENTER LINE OF WILLOW STREET; ALSO UPON THAI CERTAIN STRIP OF LAND IN <br />SAID TOWN ADJOINING THE NORTHERLY LINE OF THE PERMANENT WAY OF SAID COMPANY, <br />SAID STRIP HAVING A UNIFORM WIDTH OF TIIHNIY FEET AND EXTENDING FROM THE WEST- <br />ERLY LINE OF WINSLOW STREET (FO,IMERLY FOURTHS TREET) TO THE CENTER LINE OF <br />MAIN REDWOOD CREEK. <br />WHEREAS, The Southern Pacific Railroad Company, a railroad Corporation, <br />is the owner of, and maintains and operates, by steam locomotives, an inter- <br />state railroad which railroad extends through the Town of Redwood City, in <br />the County of San Mateo, State of California, and <br />WHEREAS, Said Company is the owner of certain permanent right-of-way in <br />said Town of Redwood City, upon which said railway has been constructed and is <br />being operated, which permanent way between the westerly line of Winslow Street <br />(formerly Fourth Street) and the centerline of Mein Redwood Creuk, forty <br />feet in width, and between the center line of Main Redwood Creek and the center <br />line of Pine Street is eighty feet wide, and between the center line of Pine <br />Street and the center line of Willow Street, is fifty feet wide, and between <br />the center line of Willow Street and the easterly limits of said Town is <br />seventy five feet wide; and <br />WHEREAS, The Town of Redwood City is the owner of a strip of land of the <br />uniform width of fifteen feet adjoining the northerly line of said permanent <br />way of said Company between the center line of Pine Street and the easterly <br />limits of said Town, and is the owner of a strip of land of the uniform width <br />of fifteen feet adjoining the southerly line of said permanent way of said <br />Company between the center line of Pine Street and the center line of Willow <br />Street; and said Town is also the owner of a strip of land of the uniform <br />
