Warren, ASA; Dorothy Cornelius, Acting Secretary for <br /> Redevelopment Agency. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />I. PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> None. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />2. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> A. District Assessment Roll, 1998/99. Financial Services Manager Somers reviewed the <br /> Staff Report dated July 27, 1998; Subject: Submittal of Equalized General <br /> Improvement District 1-64 Assessment Roll, with the Board. This assessment is a <br /> special task levied on property owners in Redwood Shores for debt service on facilities <br /> and reclamation bonds. The debt service is distributed among the property owners <br /> based on assessed value of land and improvements based on appraised market value. <br /> The rate is going down because property values have risen. The bonds will be paid off <br /> in 2009. Mr. Warren was introduced and the Board members were informed he was <br /> available to answer any technical questions they may have. (510) <br /> At 7:05 PM, Chair Howard opened the Public Hearing. <br /> Mr. John Murphy, 421 Luff Lane, Redwood City, expressed appreciation for the <br /> opportunity to comment on this matter. He also thanked Brian Ponty, District Assessor <br /> (Finance Director), for his comments advising property owners of individual assessed <br /> valuations and for providing him with a copy of the GID 1-64 Assessment Roll. In <br /> addition, he thanked Ms. Judy Somers for her reply to one of the points raised on his <br /> July 6th letter to Council. This item was in regard to expenditures on Bair Island. He <br /> submitted a copy of his remarks for the record. Mr. Murphy said that he was appalled at <br /> the brevity and lack of information in the GID 1-64 Assessment Rolls, and expressed <br /> MINUTES BOOK NO. 57 <br /> Page No. 092 <br />
