RESOLUTION NO . 7759 <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF <br /> AGREEMENT FOR MANAGEMENT OF STORM WATER HOLDING <br /> BASIN AND MITIGATION POND , AND FINDING CERTAIN <br /> MITIGATION AGREEMENT CONSISTENT WITH INTERESTS <br /> OF REDWOOD CITY AND GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br /> NO . 1- 64 <br /> DES ; dp : 2/4/77 <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> r- <br /> 1 _ <br /> WHEREAS , Mobil Oil Estates (Redwood ) Limited [ ''Mobil " It the <br /> owner and developer of the largest area of privately-owned <br /> property located within Redwood City General Improvement District <br /> No . 1- 64 , proposes to develop and improve some 210 acres of land <br /> within said District , including portions of Phelps Slough ; and <br /> WHEREAS , in connection with such development and improvement <br /> Mobil has applied to the U . S . Army Corps of Engineers for a permit <br /> to fill certain of said lands ; and <br /> WHEREAS , as a condition to the issuance of such permit , Mobil <br /> has been required , by the U . S . Fish and Wildlife Service and the <br /> California Department of Fish and Game , to enter into a mitigation <br /> agreement involving the Phelps Slough lands ; and <br /> WHEREAS , said mitigation agreement requires , in part , that the <br /> City Council of Redwood City find that the mitigation agreement <br /> and the mitigation plan (hereinafter described ) are consistent with <br /> the City ' s interest and that of Redwood City General Improvement <br /> District No . 1 - 64 ; and <br /> WHEREAS , in order to effectuate a portion of the aforementioned <br /> Phelps Slough mitigation agreement it is necessary that the City , <br /> Mobil , and the Department of Fish and Game enter into a separate <br /> agreement providing for a mitigation plan by which a portion of <br /> Phelps Slough will be used primarily as a storm water drainage and <br /> flood control system , and incidentally as a wildlife habitat and <br /> 7759 <br />
