<br /> DAL: dft 1/5/91 (002/10) <br /> J/11/91R <br /> o RIG I N A L 3/25/91 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2035 <br /> --------- <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC INTEREST REQUIRES THE <br /> DISESTABLISHMENT OF THE DOWNTOWN PARKING AND BUSINESS <br /> IMPROVEMENT AREA NO. 1, ORIGINALLY ESTABLISHED IN <br /> ACCORDANCE WITH THE PARKING AND BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT <br /> AREA LAW OF 1965 (Sts. & Hwy. Code §36000 et seq. ) , <br /> THEREBY REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1359 <br /> WHEREAS, the Downtown Parking and Business Improvement Area <br />No. 1 was established in 1968 by Ordinance No. 1359 in accordance <br />with the Parking and Business Improvement Area law of 1965 (Sts. <br />& Hwy. Code §36000 et seq.); and <br /> WHEREAS, it is in t.he pub lic interest to expand the <br />boundaries of the Downtown Parking and Business Improvement.s Area <br />No. 1 pursuant to superseding legislation; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is proposed that the Downtown Business <br />Improvement Area No. 2 be established in accordance with the <br />Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1989 (Sts. & Hwy. <br />Code §36500 et seq. ) which has superseded the Parking and <br />Business Improvement Area Law of 1965; and <br /> WHEREAS, there will be no need for the Downtown Parking and <br />Business Improvement Area No. 1 (the boundaries of Downtown <br />Improvement Area No. 1 are set as set forth in Exhibit A attached <br />hereto and incorporated by reference herein; and <br /> WHEREAS, this agreement wit.h the Redwood City Downtown <br />Association provides for a thirty day notice for termination of <br />the agreement. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />
