n1tj599 "" -' 4-SM-1O1-Kr 15.1/15.8 (PM 9.37/9.84) Route 101 at Ralston Avenue Marine Parkway Interchange 4245-256800 District Agreement 4-1964-C COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT THIS AGREEMENT, ENTERED INTO EFFECTIVE ON ~ ~3 , 2003, is between the STATE OF CALIFORNIA, acting by and thr gh Its Department of TransportatIon, referred to herein as "STATE", and CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a body politic and a municipal corporation of the State of California, referred to herein as "CITY". RECITALS 1. STATE and CITY, pursuant to Streets and Highways Code Sections 114 and 130 are authorized to enter into a Cooperative Agreement for improvements to State highways within San Mateo County. 2. STATE and CITY desire State highway improvements consisting of modifying the existing Route 101/Ralston Avenue interchange from a full cloverleaf to a partial cloverleaf and to widen adjacent local city streets in the Cities of Belmont and Redwood City in San Mateo County referred to herein as "PROJECT", and desire to define herein the terms and conditions under which PROJECT is to be engineered, constructed, financed, and maintained. 3. The CITY will be responsible for the design, preliminary engineering work, construction engineering, right of way acquisition, advertising, award, and administration of the contract. SECTION I CITY AGREES: 1. To provide all necessary preliminary engineering, including plans and specifications and utility identification and location, and all necessary construction engineering services for PROJECT and bear CITY's share of the actual expense thereof. Estimates of such costs are shown on Exhibit A, attached to and made a part of this Agreement. 2. To have an Environmental Document (ED) and detailed Plans, Specifications and Estimate (PS&E) prepared and to submit each to STATE for review and approval at appropriate stages of development. Final plans and standard special provisions shall be signed by a Civil Engineer registered in the State of California. 3. To permit STATE to monitor and participate in the selection of personnel who will conduct environmental studies and obtain the environmental compliance, prepare the PS&E, perform preliminary design and construction surveying, provide the right of way engineering services, and perform right of way activities.
