<br />ORDINANCE NO. 525 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS OF <br />OFFICE OF THE MEMBERS THERROF AND D:FFINING THE POWERS AND <br />DUTIES OF SUCH COM1ITSSION <br /> <br />The CO1IDCil of the City of Redwood City do ordain as follows: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. <br /> <br />There is hereby established by this ordinance a <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission of the City of Redwood City, to <br /> <br />consist of nine (9) members to be appointed by the City Manager <br />with the approval of the City Councll. <br />of said City~ The commission so established shall be the Park and <br /> <br />Recreation Commission heretofore established by resolution and the <br /> <br />members of said commission shall be those persons who are <br /> <br />now members of said Park and Recreation Commission so established <br /> <br />by resolution. <br /> <br />The term of office of each member of said commis- <br /> <br />sion shall be four (4) years and the terms of the present members <br />of said commission are hereby approved and adopted as the te~s <br /> <br />of the members thereof now in office. <br /> <br />The term or terms of office specified herein <br />shall not be deemed arbitrary, and should the City Council, by a <br /> <br />majority vote, after a fair hearing has been conducted thereon, <br /> <br />determine tha tit would be to the best in terest of the Commission, <br />or the Ci ty, that a member be retired, it may so order and t here- <br /> <br />upon the City Manager shall appoint a successor for the unexpired <br />term of office of such retired member, subject to approval of the <br /> <br />Ci ty Council. <br /> <br />In case of a vacancy in the Commission, caused by <br /> <br />death or resignation of a member, a successor shall be appointed <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />r - <br />
