The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by the Chair- man William Hanley. Present were: Commissioners Hiram Stout, , Eloise Camp bel It Fred Hectort Ra¡ph CB,set Irving Goldt and Donald Bogie. Oleson and Ed Spillanet Riding School James Knecht, Baseball Fields Ed Dugan, Folk Dancing at Taft School Mr. Jim Beggs, Meb Buchanan, and Greg Carusot Facilities for High School Students. George Siefert, Friendly Acres Improvement Club Mr. Ted Roeder representing the West Bay Archers in regard to a box to house the Archery targets at Community Park. Mr. Roeder stated that the Club will build the box under the super- vision of Pasco Balzarinit Supt. of Parks and upon the completion of the box it will be turned over to the City of Redwood City as their property. MSC by Commissioners Hiram Stout and Eloise. Campbell that the West Bay Archers be allowed to build this box for the housing of targets and that a letter be sent to the City that said box will become the property of the City of Redwood City. This box will be built under the direction of the Park Supt. Mr. O. S. Oleson brought up the question of Horseback Riding in the Recreation Program similar to the program carried on in the San Carlos Recreation Department. The Commission instructed Alfred Morton to check into the insurance plan as far as the City of San Carlos is concerned and to get information regarding fees and charges set up by the San Carlos Recreation Department and to make a report at the next regular meeting. Mr. James Knecht spoke in regard to the use of the various fields for baseball play in Redwood City. Mr. Knecht was assured that in the future a field would be made available for his team to use. MSC by Commissioners Hiram Stout and Ralph Case that the . City Manager be contacted to see if it would be possible to have the Hoover Field graded for softball play making it possible for the men's and Women's teams from National Motor Bearingt Ampex Electrict and the Robert Dollar .Co~pany to use for practice after 5:00 P.M. If this were done, it would make more space available for softball practice on the Community and Hawes Park fields. -.
