The <br />meeting WaS called to order by Chairman Hanley at 7:45 P.M. Present <br />- were Commissioners Catherine Brennan, Eloise Campbell, Hiram stout, <br />William Hanley, Fred Hector, and Irving Gold. <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Ra¡ph Case, Andrew Spinas, Donald Bogie. <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 2nd meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />PERSONAL APPEARANCES: <br /> <br />Mr. McDonald representing King Construction Company, asked the <br />Commission for information as to their intentions regarding some land <br />to be donated by his company. As the map given the commission by the. <br />Planning Commission did not explain just what property was in question <br />Chairman Hanley turned. the matter over to Commissioner Hector to look <br />into it and report at the next meeting. <br /> <br />~s. Gordon Dale (16~ Connectlout-~erson 6-8989) and ~s. <br />Leland Anderson appeared requesting permission to use park and recre- <br />ation equipment at Mezes Park for a pnoposed Parents Cooperative <br />Nursery School. This is to be a Parent Education-Pre school nursing <br />center. <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />MSC by Stout and Gold that a letter be sent to the City Council <br />and the Veterans Bureaus requesting that the buildihg and facilities <br />at Mezes Park be used for the Parents Cooperative Nursery School <br />(letter to be sent to United'Veterans-Council (Warren & Standish). <br /> <br />Mr. Walter Klose representing Woodside Terrace Improvement Club <br />requested information regarding Areas 1, 2 and 5. Chàirman Hanley <br />inßormed Mr. Klose that Commissioner Hector would look into that matter <br />and inform him of his findings. <br /> <br />Recreation Director "Red" Morton reported that the Council <br />çproved $1,000.00 of t~ ~,500.00 as re~ested on ~ ~dget for <br />Westwood Terrace No.2. <br /> <br />Chai~an Hanley reported on the City Council Study co~ittee <br />stating that they were working on it and promised more information <br />in the future. <br /> <br /> <br />/ <br />10 <br /> <br />Commissioner Hector, chairman of the "Addi tional Pool" commi ttee <br />reported progress and that a count of attendance was being taken to <br />determine just what type of pool should be put in. He also stated <br />that a heating system should be put in so that the pool could be used <br />for longer hours and the adults could also take a~vantage of it in the <br />~evenings.
