Mr. Heal is <br />to report back but as yet no report. <br /> <br />Commissioner Tornel1 complimented Pas~o Balzarini on the wonderful <br />barbecue he gave. Also, compliments were extended for the <br />participation the Park and Recreation oopartments showed in the <br />July 4th parade. " <br /> <br />Mr. Morton recommended that a letter Q8 written to Mike Bozzo <br />commendj~ng him on the fine work he did on the Swim meet. <br /> <br />Mr. Balzarini repor..ted .the planting along the entrance from Bayshore <br />Freeway to Whipple Avenue has been completed. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Balzarini "recommended that a letter be written to Mr. John <br />Carpenter, 1177 Lyons Avenue, thanking him for 1oaning the Park <br />Department his t wo husky dogs for the Jl1ly 4th parade. <br /> <br />With no further business ~the meeting adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />" Catherine Brennan, Secretary <br /> <br />(Due to illness, death and lack of a quorum the Park and Recreation <br />Commission meeting for September 2 waS cancelled. The next regular <br />~eting will be October 7) <br /> <br />RED,^TOOD CITY PARK' AND RECr'\}1~:\TION COMMISSION <br />October 7, 1959 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Cooonission was called <br />to order by Chairman ~aurice Schutz at 8:00 p.m. in the Conference <br />Room at the Veterans ~emorial Building. <br /> <br />... <br /> <br /> <br />On roll call the following were present Chairman Schutz, Commissioners; <br />Al~ Beals, Catherine Brennan, Wi1li~ Hanley, Louise Tornell ~ <br />J~es Knecht. Noted absent was Co~issioner Irving Gold, Recreation <br />Dire-ctor Hoo" Morton and Park Superintendent Pasco Bal~arini. <br /> <br />Commissioner Hanley made a motion that the minutes by approved as <br />mailed. Chairman Schutz asked thA,t the work ttpo:"':sible" be added <br />to the fifth paragraph 80 as to read "pos sible unforseen inc lement " <br />w&ather. The motionwas sedonded by Commission Tornell. <br /> <br />Stulsaft Park - nothing was reported. <br /> <br />Fund After ¥iftl Building - Co~issioner Ternall met with ~~ers of <br />the Fund After -ifty Club. They are going to get together and <br />visit other Senior Citizen buildinßs along the peninsula, so as to <br />get an idea of bad and good features of the building now being used. <br />
