Brennan, secretary Fro Tem PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES Regular Meeting, August 7,1963 The meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairman A1yn Beals. The following commis,sioners were present: A1yn Beals, Catherine Brennan, James Knecht, Maurice Schutz, Stanley Sugarman and Robert Whitmore. Noted absent was Louise Torne11. Also present were Pasco Balzarini, Alfred Morton, wm. Shewry & Don Dimitratos. The minutes of the July 10,1963, meeting were approved as mailed. , . Mrs. Julio pasos of 127O Westwood st., Redwood City, with a group of twelve appeared regarding the unsatisfactory use of Hetch Hetchy and Westwood Park by older chi1d~en batting balls, shooting arrows and hitting golf balls into the adjoining yarès of residents. Mr. A1yn Beals, Mrs. Alfred Morton, Pasco Balzarini & James Knecht will meet with them on Tuesday, August 13th at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the problem and to try to find a way to correct the misuse of the pari. Mr. Beals will check with the City Attorney regarding the city's liability as to property damage or injuries sustained on the fencing around the park. Mr.-John Rogers, 201 Park street, Mrs. David Morgan, 3~ Center st., Mrs. Manuel Morales and Li1e Morales of 228 Madrone St. appeared regarding Fleishman Park. They fè~t that rest room facilities are necessary at Fleishman Park. Letter from the City Manager regarding the committee8s recommendations of the $50,000 allocated for Park and Recreation use. Letter from Gordon C. Vore, secretary of the Redwood City Civic Association recommending toilet facilities and landscaping of Fleishman Park as such a green area is necessary for the neighborhood. No action of the Rose Garden parking at the end of Myrtle Street is included in the allocation of funds set- up for Park and Recreation use by the committee meeting of July 2~, 1963. MSC Schutz and Sugarman that we accept the plans for the distribution of the $50,000 recommended by the committee meeting of July 2~, 1963.
