Veterans Memorial Building The meeting was called to order by Chairman James Knecht at 2:00 p.m. ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: James Knecht, Alyn Beals, Robert Whitmore, Doris Thompson, Louise Tornell, Jack Stuart, Alfred Morton, William Shewry, James Neal. Noted absent and excused: Pasco Balzarini (Illness) Maurice Schutz (trip). . .' . MSC that the minutes of the November 2nd minutes be approved as mailed and corrected. Mr. Lloyd Sherwood, representing the Highlanders Little League, was present to discuss possible changes in the Little League Agreement that was to be discussed by the Commission as Item 9 on the Agenda. A brief report by Mr. Morton on the progress of the plans for the swim- ing pool at Hoover School was given. The recommendations of a possible site proposal and other related material will be present- ed by Councilman Royer to the Redwood City Elementary School Board at regular meeting of December 9, 1964. Mr. Neal reported that the latest plans for Valota Road did not involve the use of any Park or Recreational land so this item should be dropped from the Agenda. The Commissioners expressed their pleas- ure at this news, but wished to again go on record as opposing any use of Park or Recreational land for any other purpose than for Parks or Recreation. It was MSC that a letter be sent to Mr. Neal requesting that the Park and Recreation Commission be represented in any future planning that might directly or indirectly affect the use of Park & Recreational lands. Planning procedure for covering the creek was changed to the last item on the Agenda. Mr. MOrton reported that the work on the Speed Barriers at Community Park has been completed with a noticeable improvement in traffic speed. Mr. Neal reported that he has presented a request to the City Council for the employment of a professional architect to assist in the planning of a building and for landscaping of the Baird property. . Mr. Morton reported that plans for the development of a Community Park playground will be included in the over-all planning of the Baird property. Mr. Morton reported that a request to Mr. Spinas has been made for an agreement for the supervision of Rest Rooms at McKinley, Hoover " ~.'
