<br />The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman Beals
<br />at 7:30 p.m.
<br />
<br />On Roll call, the following Commissioners were noted present:
<br />Chairman Alyn Beals, Doris Thompson, James Knecht, Jack Stuart,
<br />Ann Gooding, Jasper Sipes and Bob Whitmore. Absent: None.
<br />Also present: City Manager, Howard Ullrich; Ass1t City Manager
<br />H. Burget; Director of Recreation~" Alfred Morton; Supt. of
<br />Parks, Pasco Balzarini; Park Foreman, John Yoshida; Bill Paul-
<br />son, Recreation Dept.; and Mrs. Lee ~ssman, stenographer.

<br />MINUTES of meeting of Aug. 3, 1966, were approved as mailed.

<br />AGENDA - Chairman Beals requested agenda item #7 - "Veterans Blvd.
<br />Beautificationtl be removed from ~genda until 'further notice: that
<br />#3 I'Rose Garden"; #4 "Hoover Schoolll and #6 "Redwood Shores II be
<br />continued to the October meeting; and that an item #10 .'Creek Cov-
<br />ering at Community Parkll be added to the agenda.

<br />AGENDA 1 - uFinal Report from Sterling S. Winans";
<br />
<br />On MOTION by Commissioner Knecht, seconded by Commissioner
<br />Whitmore, it was voted to recommend to the City Oouncilthat
<br />the "Recreation Element of the General~Plan and Supplemental
<br />Recommendationsll report dated July, 1966, as prepared by
<br />Recreation Planner & Consultant, Sterling S. Winans, of Santa
<br />Barbara, California, be accepted subject to change by the Park &
<br />Recreation Commission during review and.interim periods of the
<br />Planning Commission and Council. Passed.
<br />During the review and interim periods, the Park & Recreation
<br />commissioners will meet with their various Citizens Survey
<br />Committees and discuss report and bring in suggestions for
<br />amendments and/or changes which they feel would be for the
<br />best interest of the City. (9-19-66)

<br />AGENDA 2 - IIMulti-Purpose Building Report-Jack Stuartll: Co~iss-
<br />ioner Stuart said another meeting of committee was set with Arch-
<br />itect Nobler for next Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 1:30 p.m. to finalize
<br />colors aM materials before bringi~ to ~~ission for awrowl.
