Memorial Building <br /> <br />The r~gu1ar monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman A1yn <br />Beals at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />ON ROLL CALL, the following were noted present: Commissioners: <br />Alyn Beals, Ann Gooding, James Knecht, Jasper Sipes, Jack stuart, <br />Secretary Doris Thompson and Bob Whitmore. Agsent: NONE. Also <br />present: Director of Recreation, Alfred E. Morton; Park Supt., <br />Pasco Balzarini; Recreation Supervisors - Sally Hartman, Bill <br />Paulson and Bill Wooten; Park Foreman #1 - Bert Baker; Park Fore- <br />man #2, John Yoshida; Planning Director, Ken Schroeter; Planning <br />Assistant, Speer McClellan; Mr. Lou MasarieJ Mr. George Roussak$ <br />Calif. Professional Soccer Club, Inc.; Mrs. Lee Mas'sman, stenog- <br />rapher. <br /> <br />MINUTES of the meeting of January 4, 1967, were approved as cor- <br />rected, the correction, at the request of Secty. Thompson, being <br />the addition to "Agenda 2, item.. c, page 2: IIMr. Balzarini of.fer- <br />ed loan of a flag for the dedication ceremonies of the new Multi- <br />Purpose Building - this flag had flown over the Capitol in Wash- <br />ington, D.C., and had been presented to him by Congressman Younger. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> <br />1. Letter of thanks to-Commissioner Thompson from Council- <br />woman Mary W. Henderson for arranging for tour to Canyon <br />Road park site on Jan. 20th and commending Commissioner <br />Stuart for recognizing the potential of the property. (Tour <br />-included: Mayor Sid Herkner, Councilman Henderson, land <br />Commissioners Thompson and Stuart.) <br /> <br />2. Letter from Jack P. Ference, Auditor-Acco~ntant, City <br />of Redwood City, requesting information required for appli- <br />cation for Federal Funds for acquisition of IIflagli property <br />adjacent to Community Park and possible Canyon Road park <br />site property, as to specific open-space uses, and whether <br />of local or regional use. ' - <br /> <br />It was suggested that the Canyon Road site could be consid- <br />ered a local or neighborhood facility which could be expand-. <br />ed to regional use and IIflagll property would be one of local <br />us~ge. <br /> <br />3. Letter dated Feb. 1, 1967, from California Professional <br />Soccer Club Inc. and signed by George J.
