'144 <br /> <br />U~OOD cI~H & UCR~TIOO CO*ISSIOO <br />June 7, 1967 . 7:30 p.m. <br />Veterans' Memorial Building <br /> <br />The regular monthly meeting was called to order by Chairman Robert <br />Whitmore at 7:30 p.m. on June 1967. <br /> <br />ON ROLL CALL, the following commissioners were noted present: <br />Chairman Robert Whitmore, Dixon Arnett, James Knecht, Jack <br />Stuart, Secretary Doris Thompson and Jim Williams. <br />Absent and excused: Ann Gooding. <br /> <br />Also present: Director of Recreation, Alfred Morton; Park Super- <br />intendent,' Pasco Balzarini; Recreation Supervisor, Bill Paulson; <br />Park Foreman #2, John Yoshida; and high school students-Beth <br />Means, Menlo Park, and Tod Walton, Atherton. <br /> <br />MINUTES of the regular meeting of May 3,1967, and the Special'meet- <br />ing of May 17,1967, were approved as mailed, on motion of James <br />knecht, seconded by Dixon Arnett, and passed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />1 - Copy of interoffice memo, from Park Supt. to Assistant City <br />Manager, under date of 5-17-67, estimating cost of entering <br />the 1967 Fiesta as $1,200 for materials, plus salaries for <br />four men for approximately three weeks starting the middle <br />'of July, and- requesting additional funds be allocated for the <br />project, <br />2 - Copy of interoffice memo from Assistant City Manager to Park <br />Supt., under date of 5-23-67, confirming receipt of memoran- <br />dum re expense estimate for entering 1967 Fiesta, suggesting <br />use of existing budget funds, or possible transfer of funds <br />as needed; - <br />3 - Monthly report, May, of Park Dept. for services over and <br />above normal park programs. <br /> <br />Mr. Balzarini said Fiesta would be for a thirteen day period <br />this year and that there were to be 2 judgings: 1 on first <br />day and the second one 5 days later; that the department had <br />not entered last year's Fiesta because of shortage of personnel' <br />but prior to that the department had received a great number <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />of awards.
