<br />The regular monthly meeting wa$ called to order by Chairman
<br />Robert Whitmore at 7:30 p.m. on August 2, 1967.
<br />

<br />ON ROLL CALL, the following commissioners were noted present:
<br />Chairman Whitmore, Dixon Arnett, Ann Gooding, James Knecht
<br />and Doris Thompson. Absent and excused: Jack Stuart and
<br />Jim Williams.
<br />
<br />Also present: -Director of Recreation, Alfred Morton: Park
<br />Superintendent, Pasco Balzarini: Recreation Supervisor, Bill
<br />Paulson and Leee Massman, stenographer.
<br />
<br />MINUTES of the meeting of July 5, 1967, on motion of Ann Gooding
<br />seconded by Dixon Arnett, were corrected as follows:
<br />Agenda 3 - Committee Reports, sixth line deleted as
<br />follows: "to work on priorities so that a price" tag can
<br />be established"; Agenda 4, first paragraph, line 7,
<br />insert after "coming year":' .'Meeting set for August
<br />16th at 1:30 p.m.." Passed.
<br />
<br />CORRESPONDENCE: 1. Request for'personal appearance from Mrs.
<br />Hannah Lahuta, 50 King, R.C., under date of July 21st;
<br />2. Copy of speed letter from Pasco Balzarini
<br />to Asst. City Manager, Henry Burget, dated August 1st, re
<br />Fiesta Results by park Department for Fiesta Entry:
<br />3 firsts; 4 seconds; and 1 third, total prize money
<br />$1,115; .

<br />normal department activities;

<br />Commerce - Freeway Support Committee - under signature of
<br />Herbert Hoover,.Jr., chairman:
<br />6. Letter dated August 2nd from R.C. Annual
<br />Spring Flower & Art Show Committee, signed by Mrs. Doro-
<br />thy Gravelle, General Chairman, 1967, and enclosing eheck
<br />for $1,000 to help towards planting of a rose garden at
<br />Community park. Letter included stipulation that if money
<br />was not used for rose garden within three years that money
<br />
<br />would be returned to committee.
