II1I>.d-r.- ~ - Dianne Pound had discussed with Mayor Kackley guidelines for Commdssioners as to their duties, responsibilities and intercommuni- cation channels with City staff, City Council and the Commissions. She noted that Councilman Bob Norris had also discussed it with the Mayor. Mr. Norris will chairman a co~ttee to meet the third week of August to work out these guidelines and had requested Dianne Pound to be a member of the committee. Chairman Schenck and Joanne Weintraub will also attend. . Fra~ Guida co~nted on ~e ~oœure advert~si~ the position of Director of Park and Recreation Departments. He expressed the Commission's interest in the type of person needed. He asked the progress on the telephone installation in the park near the armory; the Commission feels it is a necessary safety factor. Sylvester will relay this information to pasco Balzarini "and they will continue to attempt to locate a phone in the park. Chairman Schenck noted information from the City Manager and Mayor regarding the annual convention in Los Angeles October 15-18 of the League of California Cities included all Commissioners attendance, if possible. National Park and Recreation Convention is the week before. Chairman Schenck inquired about a wind buffer near the caboose in the park by planting trees. Sylvester said they are now finished with hauling fill in and would take out the fence and plant several trees re the master plan. Reuben Haynes was absent. STAFF PRESENT: William Wooten, Recreation Supervisor, Pasco Balzarini, Parks Superintendent and Lee Halteman, Secretary. Chairman Schenck opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m. '\
