'41 <br /> <br />Commissioner Schenck mentioned that in:¡setting up the priorities for the <br />renovation of the neighborhood parks, that Stafford be given first consider- <br />ation. Mr. Weeks mentioned that the Commission had already suggested priori- <br />ties and that Mezes would be first priority. This was discussed at the May 8 <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />. . <br /> <br /> <br />MOTION: Commissioner Knecht moved that the priorities set by the Design & <br />Development Committee and as discussed by the Commission be reaf- <br />firmed and be recommended to the Council and that Mezes Park be <br />the first priority of the Commission. <br /> <br />Ayes: 5 <br />Nays: 1 <br /> <br />The motion carried by voice vote. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound mentioned that the NRPA national convention is in October <br />this year and she wanted to know if the Commission was going to be participat- <br />ing in the League of Cities. Mr. Weeks mentioned that possibly one or two <br />Commissioners could be sent to the League meeting. It was pointed out that <br />reservations should be made soon. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound also mentioned the President's Energy Conservation Award <br />which is an award to a Department, Commission, or community who has contri- <br />buted something outstanding to solving the energy crisis. She suggested that <br />the Commission encourage a community project. She felt this should be some- <br />thing to work on as a Commission as a whole to stimulate interest in the <br />community andthe Department. <br /> <br />Commissioner Pound also stated that she had toured the Day Camp facilities <br />and noticed the graffiti on the restroom walls. She suggested that perhaps <br />all the restrooms in the City be painted the same color and that the clean- <br />up crews carry a can of spray paint for daily/weekly touch-ups. This will <br />be investigated. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />Commissioner Knecht mentioned that the National Guard was probably going to be <br />changed some and he requested the Commission think about being prepared to pur- <br />chase the land as an extension to Community Park. <br /> <br />Chairperson Weintraub requested that the persons attending Committee meetings <br />be listed on the reports. <br /> <br />MOTION: Commissioner Knecht moved to adjourn the meeting, seconded by <br />Commissioner Schenck. <br /> <br />The motion carried unanimously and the meeting adjourned at 10:50 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />REDWOOD CITY PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />September 11,1974 <br /> <br />The regular business meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission was called <br />to order by Chairperson Weintraub at 7:35 p.m. in Meeting Room Number 1 at <br />the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City. <br /> <br />
