Ms. Tulioc asked her invited guests to <br />introduce themselves prior to discussing the Accessible Recreation Program. <br /> <br />Currently, the program involve clients from Redwood City and surrounding <br />coRll1uni t; es that operates primari ly out of the Red Morton Recreat,i on <br />Center. Activities include baseball and basketball garnes, trips to <br />Disneyland and other local attractions as well as picnics and social. . <br />activities. , <br /> <br />. -. <br /> <br />Networking for the program occurs through community and professional <br />meetings, other disabled persons and disabled awareness fairs. <br /> <br />Publicity for the current program is provided. in the Department's Citywide <br />Newsletter and is sent to various county wide disabled groups. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />Red Morton Community Park and the Recreation Center were recently,selected <br />as a training site for the Special Olympics. The average age of the <br />participants in the program is 28-35 years old. . <br /> <br />The primary limitation on the program's expansion is a wheel chair <br />accessible vehicle for transportation purposes.
