<br />, , , .." ,-"',, , ,--, <br />~:- , ./-,-';'."" ~ , <br /> <br />, ' - ,-" ' . .. <br />- " " <br />,; , <br />-" "'._':,'" " <br />, . <br /> <br />J -- <br /> <br />... <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />Minutes of Wednesday, January 23,1991 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Chairperson Nordness, <br />Commissioners Costelli, Davis, <br />Howard, Mortensen, Slusser and <br />Swope <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: <br />STAFF PRESENT: <br /> <br />Councilwoman Judy Buchan <br /> <br />Parks & Recreation Director Peter <br />Griffiths, Management Analyst Ramon <br />Aguilar, Recreation Center Supervisor <br />Jan Knight, and Administrative <br />Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairperson Ed Hordness in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-All Commissioners were given a copy of a memo from Director Griffiths to <br />the City Manager and City Council concerning the status of Kiwanis/4ger <br />field. <br /> <br />--Director Griffiths introduced Ramon Aguilar, Management Analyst for the <br />Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department to the Commissioners. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - Park Assignments <br /> <br />Chairperson Nordness suggested revising the current park assignments for <br />each commissioner. A survey was distributed to the commissioners in order <br />to determine what their current park assignments are and what parks they <br />have been responsible for in the past. The survey, also requested that each <br />commissioner list three parks they would feel capable of handling at <br />present. Chairperson Nordness and Director Griffiths will meet to further <br />discuss this matter and make the assignments. This item will be placed on <br />the February agenda. Director Griffiths mentioned that the Park Inspection <br />Report could also be modified/updated at the same time. He indicated that <br />he reviews Park Inspection Reports completed by the Commissioners and <br />problems noted are taken care of immediately by Park personnel. Problems <br />that cannot be taken care by the Park Division are referred to appropriate <br />City department for completion. Good comments noted on the inspection <br />reports by the Commissioners are shared with the Park Division crews. <br /> <br />
