Park and Recreation <br />Superintendent Sally Hartman and <br />Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order at 7:30pm by Chairperson Bob Slusser in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />Commissioner Davis requested that two changes be made to the February <br />minutes. Under Item 1, last paragraph, the last sentence should read <br />liThe Commissioners agreed to give Director Griffiths the authority to <br />approve the yearly tournament request of the Redwood Shores Tennis Club.1I <br />Under Monthly Reports, third paragraph, the word IINASAII (noted twice) <br />should be changed to IILockheedli. The minutes were approved as corrected. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />There was no correspondence. <br /> <br />ITEM 1 - Presentation by Assistant Recreation Supervisor Chris Oliver <br /> <br />Assistant Recreation Supervisor Chris Oliver made a presentation to the <br />Commission regarding her area of responsibility at the Veterans Senior <br />Center. She explained her education and background as a registered physical <br />therapist and her work at senior day care centers and rehabilitation <br />facilities. Supervisor Oliver has been at the Veterans Senior Center for the <br />past seven years and is involved in all areas of programming at the Center. <br />She also works with the Fair Oaks Senior Center and networks with senior <br />centers in other cities and feels that Redwood City is very innovative in the <br />programs we offer. Supervisor Oliver reviewed the attendance figures for <br />February for the Veterans Senior Center which were as follows: <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br />
