<br />¡ <br /> <br />J <br /> <br />¡ <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />.( <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF JULY 26, 1995 <br /> <br />CO MMIS S lONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Swope I C ommiss ion ers <br />Davis, Nordness, Slusser, and Truscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />Commissioner Hughes and Morton <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli, Ian Bain <br /> <br />STAFF PRE S EN T: Director Peter Griffiths I Management Analyst Ramon <br />Aguilar I Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Susan Swope at 7:35pm in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the June meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />-A letter was received from the Peninsula Celebration Association thanking <br />the Commission for their participation in the 4th of July Parade. <br />- A letter was receive d from J ed Du gis h of A YSO co ncemin g ren 0 va tio n of the <br />Kennedy School fields. A copy of the letter will be sent to all the <br />Commissioners for their review and this matter will be placed on the August <br />agenda. <br /> <br />ITEM 1- APPROVAL OF UNION CEMETERY REPAIR PROJECT #2 <br /> <br />Management Analyst Ramon Aguilar reported that the Historic Union <br />Cemetery Association (HUCA) completed the first of three repair projects at <br />Union Cemetery in April. V. Fontana and Company had agreed to repair six <br />monuments at a cost of $1,500,00 which was shared between HUCA and the <br />City of Redwood City. During Repair Project #1, Mr. Fontana and his workers <br />repaired a total of 18 monuments for the same cost as repairing the six they <br />had agreed to. Mr. Aguilar stated he was on site the entire day of the repairs <br />and mentioned that Mr. Fontana was very careful and knowledgeable during <br />the repair process and used minimal materials to make the repairs. Both he <br />and HUCA are very pleased with all of the work that Mr. Fontana completed. <br />He stated Mr. Fontana thinks it will take a total of 3 pròjects to repair all of the <br />repairable monuments at Union Cemetery. A photo display of the repair <br />process for Project #1 was on exhibit for the Commissioners' review. Mr. <br /> <br />
