PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES OF MARCH 27, 1996 CO MMI SS lONERS PRESENT: Chairperson S W 0 pe I Co mmiss i 0 ne rs Davis, Hughes, Morton, Nordness, Slusser, and Truscelli COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: None GUESTS PRESENT: Supervisor Adilah Haqq-Smith, Vince Truscelli STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Marc Seleznow, Secretary Denise Monroe The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairperson Susan Swope at 7:30pm in Room 5 of the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. APPROVAL OF MINUTES ChairperSon Swope asked that a correction be made to the January 24, 1996 meeting minutes under Oral Communications. She explained that the minutes should reflect that the motion that was made was in fact withdrawn and that !lit was the consensus of the Commissioners that Chairperson Swope draft a letter to the City Council with a copy to the City Manager requesting that they direct staff to review these issues and that a representative of the Park and Recreation Commission is available to meet with staff to explore options to try and resolve these issues", The minutes of the February 28, 1996 meeting were approved as mailed. CORRESPONDENCE The following correspondence was received: - The Commissioners received two memos from Supervisor J an Knight regarding (1) an article which will appear in the CPRS newsletter; and (2) usage and events at Red Morton Center. Commissioner Davis suggested writing an article or issuing a press release updating the progress of the new Red Morton Center. -A copy of the letter Chairperson Swope sent to Mayor Hartnett regarding the January 24 meeting concerning dogs and alcohol use in the parks. -A letter was received from the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District offering to make a short presentation to the Commission at a future meeting.
