<br />( <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF MARCH 27, 1996 <br /> <br />CO MMI SS lONERS PRESENT: Chairperson S W 0 pe I Co mmiss i 0 ne rs <br />Davis, Hughes, Morton, Nordness, Slusser, <br />and Truscelli <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Supervisor Adilah Haqq-Smith, Vince Truscelli <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Marc Seleznow, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Susan Swope at 7:30pm in Room 5 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />ChairperSon Swope asked that a correction be made to the January 24, 1996 <br />meeting minutes under Oral Communications. She explained that the <br />minutes should reflect that the motion that was made was in fact withdrawn <br />and that !lit was the consensus of the Commissioners that Chairperson Swope <br />draft a letter to the City Council with a copy to the City Manager requesting <br />that they direct staff to review these issues and that a representative of the <br />Park and Recreation Commission is available to meet with staff to explore <br />options to try and resolve these issues", The minutes of the February 28, 1996 <br />meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />The following correspondence was received: <br /> <br />- The Commissioners received two memos from Supervisor J an Knight <br />regarding (1) an article which will appear in the CPRS newsletter; and (2) <br />usage and events at Red Morton Center. Commissioner Davis suggested <br />writing an article or issuing a press release updating the progress of the new <br />Red Morton Center. <br /> <br />-A copy of the letter Chairperson Swope sent to Mayor Hartnett regarding the <br />January 24 meeting concerning dogs and alcohol use in the parks. <br /> <br />-A letter was received from the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District <br />offering to make a short presentation to the Commission at a future meeting. <br /> <br />
