The July minutes were approved as mailed.

Commissioner Hughes requested that either she or Commissioner Slusser be
on the committee regarding a teen center area at the Sandpiper Community
Center. Commissioner Slusser noted the MOPS Committee began looking at
the site plan last year and individual Commissioners were invited to attend.
Commissioner Davis felt the playing field for the project became a baseball
field by default and is disappointed with the result because there are a
shortage of soccer fields in the community. Commissioner Slusser felt it
should be developed primarily as a soccer field and would not be large
enough for use by adult players as a softball field.

M/S Hughes/Morton: To recommend to the City Council to have one of the
Park and Recreation Commissioners be appointed to serve
on the Teen Center Committee.

Motion passed.

CORRESPONDENCE

Superintendent Seleznow gave the Commissioners copies of City Council
reports concerning: the advertisement for bids for the Myrtle Street par king
lot project; the final acceptance of the Shannon Park Project; and the approval
of the architectural services for the Redwood Shores Fire Sta non and
