This item will be
scheduled on the April agenda for further discussion.

ORAL COMMUNICATIONS

Terry Anderlini advised the Commissioners that upon further research, it
was determined that there are no CCR's preventing the establishment of a
dog park in Redwood Shores. He noted that a dog park would still require the
approval of the Red wood Shores Construction Committee. He announced
that the Shores Dogs group has a following of 250 people and they will be
making a presentation to the City Council on April 14. Mr. Anderlini
mentioned there is a piece of City owned property on Marine World Parkway
which is currently designated as park land and which could be used for a
potential dog park. The property is 3.9 acres in size but he felt that only one
acre of the property would be needed for the dog park. He said the City
ordinance prohibiting dogs in parks is an obstacle and would need to be
modified for this project. Mr. Anderlini discussed the fact that this piece of
property might be sold in the future and urged the Commissioners not to
allow this property to be sold. The Commissioners asked staff to prepare a
report regarding this property and the pros and cons of using it as a dog park.
