MINUTES OF WEDNESDA V, OCTOBER 25, 2000 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperso"n Davis, Commissioners Joseph, LaBerge, Morton, and Walsh COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners Swope and Truscelli GU ESTS PRESE NT: None STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Gary Hover, Acting Director Corinne , Centeno The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairperson Don Davis at 7:30pm in Room 1 at the Community Activities Building~ 1400 Ròosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A correction was made to the Septerhber minutes under Item 4, Windmill Update. The minutes should read that the initial fundraising goal for the project was $25,000. The minutes were approved as corrected. CORRESPONDENCE Superintendent Hover provided the Commissioners with a copy of a letter dated October 20, 2000 to Mr. Ben Fukutome from Public Works Superintendent Gordon Mann. Mr. Fukutome had requested a change in the conditions of his September 27 tree appeal and Superintendent Mann denied his request. ITEM 1 - UPDATED ON TREES IN REDWOOD SHORES -Stewart - Complaint at 504 Cringle Drive Superintendent Hover reported that the tree at 504 Cringle Drive has been removed from the parkway. This removal was approved by the Mayor and the Redwood Shores Homeowners Association. -Vedder - Complaint at 485 Tiller Lane Superintendent Hover reported that this City tree on the parkway has not been approved for removal at this time as we are still waiting for the release of the wasp that is supposed to adequately combat the pest problem in this and other trees. On November 20, 2000, a decision will be made on this tree by the City. He reported that although the City has no desire to remove this tree, it is negatively impacting the property owner at 485 Tiller Lane. Each . ,'\'
