Mrs. Travers stated that
people are still bringing BBQs to Stafford and roping off areas of the park.
She also felt the park signs prohibiting BBQs are not located in the proper
spot. She stated that she saw no park staff on duty at Stafford and spoke
about a situation on June 5 where the Police Department was called.
Superintendent Hover stated that BBQs are still an issue at Stafford and
reported that Superintendent Chris Beth spent most of last Saturday at
Stafford speaking to people about the BBQ issue and stated that many
people were not receptive to the no BBQ regulation. He confirmed that there
are six park signs in English and four in Spanish at various locations
throughout the park.

The Commissioners discussed the matter and asked if BBQ coals were still an
issue at the park. Superintendent Hover suggested that the addition of free
standing BBQs at Stafford is an option and that staff is working with the
Police Department to have a reserve officer on duty at several of our parks.
It was requested that Superintendent Chris Beth give an update next month
on the matter.
