~ '\' . -" '~ , PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2001 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Joseph, Commissioners Davis, Swope, Truscelli, and Walsh COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioners La Berge and Morton GUESTS PRESENT: Vince Truscelli, Julia Mittelstadt, Scott Morton STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Gary Hover, Director Corinne Centeno, Superintendent Chris Beth, Secretary Denise Monroe The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to order by Chairperson Jeri Joseph at 7:30pm in Room 5 of the Community Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. APPROVAL OF MINUTES A correction was made to the October minutes under Item 5, Dog Park Rules. The last sentence should read: "The revised rules would limit the number of dogs brought into the site to 3 dogs per person." MIS Truscelli/Walsh: To approve the October minutes as corrected. Motion passed. (Abstain-2 Davis, Swope due to not being in attendance at the October meeting) CORRESPON DENCE -The Avocet Newsletter of the Santa Clara County Audubon Society was received. ITEM 1 - STUDY SESSION - SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1 Chairperson Joseph reminded the Commissioners the Study Session will be held this Saturday, December 1 at the Senior Center Annex in Room 20. She stated the purpose of the meeting is to discuss suggestions, ideas and set Commission goals for 2002. Commissioner Davis thought it was a good idea and that the Commission should hold study sessions every year or every other year to establish goals and brainstorm ideas. Commissioner Swope suggested that the Commissioners read the City ordinance that established the Park and Recreation Commission to see what the purpose of the Commission originally was intended by the City fathers. A copy of the ordinance will be provided to each of the Commissioners for their review.
