<br />'I <br /> <br />',,; <br /> <br />\:" <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br /> <br />."- <br /> <br />MIN-UTES OF WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 28, 2002 <br /> <br />, . . <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Joseph, Commissioners Davis, <br />Morton, Swope, Truscelli and Walsh <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: Commissioner La Berge <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: Scott Morton <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Superintendent Gary Hover, Superintendent Chris Beth, <br />Director Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Jeri Joseph at 7: 34pm in Room 4 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes of the July 24, 2002 meeting were approved as mailed. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />Secretary Monroe read a letter from Elizabeth Travers concerning Stafford <br />Park and a copy of her letter was provided to the Commissioners. <br /> <br />The following items were taken out of order: <br /> <br />ITEM 2 - STRATEGIC PLAN DATA REVIEW <br /> <br />Commissioner Swope reported on the results of summarizing the 228 <br />responses received from presentations made to 18 community groups. She <br />provided the Commissioners with a draft report of the responses and asked <br />what course of action the Commission wished to pursue. She announced she <br />would mail out the draft to the other members of the sub-committee on <br />September 6; the group would meet on September 13 to discuss; a final <br />document would be sent to the Commissioners on September 20 to be <br />discussed at the September 25 meeting. <br /> <br />The Commissioners discussed the matter and Director Centeno stated that <br />staff is collecting additional data for the strategic plan which will be provided <br />to the Commissioners. It was decided that Commissioner Swope will <br />continue work on the draft and proceed with the timeline she provided to the <br />Commissioners. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />
