Superintendent Chris Beth <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was called to <br />order by Chairperson Matt Walsh at 7:30pm in Room 1 of the Community <br />Activities Building, 1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Redwood City, California. <br /> <br />APPROVAL 0 F MIN UTES <br /> <br />Commissioner Joseph requested a correction be made to the March minutes <br />under Item 3, paragraph 2. The last sentence should read, "Chairperson <br />Walsh and Commissioner Joseph will meet to discuss the matter in more <br />detail". The March minutes were approved as corrected. <br /> <br />CORRESPON DENCE <br /> <br />There was no correspondence. <br /> <br />The following items were taken out of order: <br /> <br />ITEM 6 - STAFFORD PARK BBQS <br /> <br />Superintendent Hover reviewed the park use policy for Stafford Park and the <br />policy recommendations adopted by the Commission at its October 23, 2002 <br />meeting. One of the recommendations was to install three new BBQs in the <br />park at existing picnic areas Superintendent Hover noted that the BBQs and <br />new signs have arrived and will be installed shortly. <br /> <br />Elizabeth Travers, 27 Lowen Street, spoke about the activity at Stafford Park <br />during Easter time which included the use of portable BBQs, alcohol <br />consumption and groups of 35-50 in size. She called the Police Department <br />to report the activities and said the officer responding was not aware of the <br />ordinance. Mrs. Travers felt that alcohol is a problem in the park because <br /> <br />
