<br />.. <br />. <br /> <br />.. <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />MINUTES OF WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 25, 2004 <br /> <br />COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES BUILDING <br />1400 Roosevelt Avenue, Room 1 <br />Redwood City, CA 94061 <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chairperson Yapp, Commissioners Morton <br />(arrived at 8:15 p.m.), Slusser, Swope, Truscelli and White <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> <br />Commissioner Joseph <br /> <br />GUESTS PRESENT: <br /> <br />Beth Beach <br /> <br />STAFF PRESENT: Superintendents Gary Hover and Chris Beth and Director <br />Corinne Centeno, Secretary Denise Monroe <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Yapp called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />The minutes, for the July 2004 Regular Meeting of the Commission, were <br />accepted, with Commissioner Swope noting she would ask the Secretary to <br />correct two typographical errors, <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br /> <br />Commissioners received a copy of the report from Youth Infusion Director Sara <br />Schulman with respect to how youth can be more involved in policy making in <br />Redwood City. Ms. Schulman will be invited to present her findings at a future <br />Commission meeting. <br /> <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br /> <br />Beth Beach asked for clarification on the boat enclosure item which will come <br />before the Commission in September with respect to which groups were included <br />in the motion to direct Stanford Kayak and Paddling to seek approval and how <br />any decision on the enclosure related to the Lagoon Moratorium and the lagoon' <br />usage guidelines proposed by the community. Chairperson Yapp clarified that <br />the same three grou ps that gave their approval to the existing revocable permit, <br />Redwood Shores Owners Association, Redwood Shores Community Association <br />and Redwood Shores Design Board, were the groups involved.
