Johnson at 1491 Sierra Street for the removal
of a large Redwood tree. Superintendent Mann stated the tree was inspected
and found to be in excellent health and the permit to have the tree removed
was denied, although a permit for pruning would be approved. Mr. Johnson's
daughter, Donna Haage, stated her father originally applied for the tree
permit at the request of neighbor Rosetta Nicolosi of 1560 Palm Avenue who
wants the tree removed. Rafaella Nicolosi, mother of Rosetta Nicolosi, spoke
regarding her appeal to have this tree removed due to several reasons
including excess debris and damage to roof caused by the tree, sewer
problems in 2002 due to tree roots, and insurance coverage issues.
Superintendent Mann confirmed that the neighbor, not the property owner is
appealing the denial of the tree permit.

. ,
