Q 25 <br />-_-- -- APR 21979 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL ASSISTANCE <br />(COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT) AND AUTHORIZING <br />EXECUTION AND FILING OF ALL DOCUMENTS PERTAINING THERETO <br />(FISCAL YEAR 1979-80) <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Block Grant Program authorized <br />pursuant to Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act <br />of 1974, as enacted by the Congress of the United States (Pub. L. <br />93-383), provides for the issuance of grants in order to attain <br />the objective of the development of viable urban communities, by <br />providing decent housing and a suitable living environment and <br />expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low <br />and moderate income; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been presented to, and reviewed by this <br />Council an application to the United States Department of Housing <br />and Urban Development for a Community Development Block Grant in the <br />amount of Six Hundred Fifty-eight Thousand and No/100 Dollars <br />($658,000.00) for the period of July 1, 1979, through June 30, 1980; and <br />WHEREAS, there has been prepared by the Planning Director a <br />Notice of Determination, determining that the proposed Community <br />Development Block Grant Program, as set forth in the aforesaid <br />application, is exempt from the requirements of NEPA and CEQA as a <br />ministerial project and does not have a significant effect on the <br />environment, and a notice of such determination filed with the <br />County Clerk of San Mateo County; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council desires to approve the aforementioned <br />application for a Community Development Block Grant and to authorize <br />the execution of all documents pertaining thereto, including all <br />understandings and assurances connected therewith; <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br />8 251 <br />
